Sanergy bags TWO awards at the NBQSA – 2009

Sanergy PVT Limited bags TWO awards at the NBQSA – 2009 event where company won a Silver medal for its “Battery Recovery Unit” under the research and development category and the overall award winner as The young entrepreneurship of the year.

The award winning product “Battery Recovery Unit” is a computer controlled unit which can be used to recover Li-Ion Batteries. Disposal of batteries causes serious damages to the environment damaging the water bed and creating serious environmental hazard challenging the survival of human kind. The product uses innovative technique in recovering and identifying damaged batteries where the recovery percentage so far has shown is more than 60%.

Sanergy signs contract with Sri Lanka Telecom

Sanergy signed with Sri Lanka Telecom a services contract for servicing and repairing of CDMA Telephones. Under the contract sanergy will completely refurbish the CDMA telephones after reapairing the defects, covering battery testing to cleaning.

This sophisticated services operation offer chip level replacement and repair and is managed by experienced telcom engineers.

Sanergy signs a contract with Huwawei corporation for repairing its CDMA Telephones

Recently Sanergy entered in to a rework agreement with Huwawei corporation for repairing CDMA phone units which are under warranty.

Under this agreement Sanergy repairs and services the phones for Operators Lanka Bell and Suntel.

Speaking to the operations manager mentioned, this project will expand further and will be fully expanded to cater double the demand currently being served and also will be equipped with high end tools and material required for enhanced deliverable.

Sanergy - Telecom services department moves to a new premises

Sanergy Telecom services department today moved in to a spacious custom designed environment to serve its customers better.

Sanergy Telecom services department is providing services to Suntel Limited for repairing of CDMA telephones. Sanergy has invested in to a process oriented state of the art service facility for providing the services and has won customer accolades in a very short time frame.

The new move was based on the demand from the existing customers to increase the volumes as well as to cater newly added customer demands.

The facility will be able to cater basic level to advance board/component level services for repairing of the CDMA phones and has capacity to service and repair up to 10,000 phones per month.

The premises was ceremonially opened to business this morning by house warming & lighting oil lamp by distinguished guests from the customers, employees as well as invitees from sister companies of the group.

Sanergy re launches CDMA Phone Charger

Sanergy Designed a Solar operated CDMA Charger for remote locations where Grid power is not available or too expensive to obtain.

Using Sanergy's proven technology platform, this charging unit can charge the phone to its full capacity in 2 hours of sun light. Further the units has a extra storage battery to supply the phone with continues power in the night as well as cloudy conditions.

Sanergy is to unveil its newest product - Intelligent Solar Street Lights

Sanergy PVT limited is a Sri Lankan technology company focusing on renewable energy solutions. Having started its operations in 2005, company has many innovations in its bag. One of its flagship product is a solar operated Aircraft Warning Lamps and recently the company announced a new generation of Solar Street light which grabbing market attention.

Companies Technical Director in innovations Mr. Vithanage said “our product is unique because we use computing technology to manage the product”, speaking more he said the light is using solid state lighting technology controlled by a microprocessor based system. This unit is managed by software and is 100% designed and developed in Sri Lanka. Conventional Solar based street lights are not capable of energy management and uses standard energy capture and release mechanisms, where as our lamps are not only energy efficient they manage the captured energy to optimize the energy loss as well. In the tropical climates, area of a square meter will receive approximate 3000 kCal per day but the current technologies can only capture 15% of it, so we need to manage this capture this energy efficiently to achieve our goals.

Further he mentioned these Lights are not only innovative, but they are intelligent as well, explaining it he mentioned street lights generally serve an effective time interval of 4-5 hours a day where there is heavy traffic and then can be dimmed to a half intensity on low traffic environments. Our lamps are software controlled and we can achieve this easily where as conventional technologies cannot do this. Not only that our next generation lamps which are in our research labs are more intelligent and can talk to each other and even light up at full brightness detecting vehicular traffic and can even inform it’s neighboring lamps to increase the intensity for smooth lighting for traffic (this technique is branded as ”light wave”). There are lot more in our bag and we will disclose these in the near future.

Company is already negotiating with some foreign parties for expanding its market presence as the local market is not very receptive to the idea due to higher initial investment. Speaking to us Chairman Mr. Wasantha K Weerakoone said “We have a great product which tells that Asia also can innovate, however our market seems not ready yet” , speaking further he said “we have shown our product in last three Innovation exhibitions but no one has grabbed the attention yet”.

Further he said company is now investing in to a complete green village in Matale where all the power will be derived from the Sun or Wind and they are building a eco resort that will also serve Food grown without any artificial fertilizer. The project construction is on the way and will be ready by next January.
